The Interior Designer is the profession that produces solutions in order to offer the most suitable design according to functional, structural, and aesthetic criteria in an architectural site.

The Interior Designer is located in a location that includes values ​​and aesthetic knowledge required by fine arts, and on the other hand, is associated with the building phenomenon of architecture.

 In addition to approaching the subject in a dimension that evaluates the volume and surfaces of the sites inside a building, the interior designer should also be knowledgeable about site comfort, such as building systems, physical environmental control, lighting, ergonomics, heating.

The interior designer designs for the purpose of bringing new and economical solutions to the site organization. As a requirement of his profession, he researches human-hardware-site problems beyond the usual forms and dimensions and researches them again with the anxiety of present and future. Uses developments in materials and technology in site and hardware designs. 

 

The areas served by interior designers can be listed as follows:

 

1-) It takes place in the team that carries out the process (decision-making-implementation) from the initial stages of the site design to the end of the applications. Determines the size and usage data in accordance with the data obtained from the furniture (equipment) specific to the place and realizes the unique forms.

 

 2-) It is a fact that the reorganization of the interior site is needed more frequently than the construction of the new building. It analyzes and organizes the new function envisaged in the interiors of the buildings that will be completed or will be given a new function other than the old function, according to the life and behavior styles of the human.

 

 3-) Makes the determination and restoration of the interiors of the old buildings determined as cultural heritage or historical monuments and the elements (furniture, building elements, etc.) in these places. It is within the working area of ​​the interior architect so that traditional art and culture can be adopted and promoted.

 

 The main features that the International Federation of Interior Architects (IFI) adopts as the features that people who will work in the field of interior architecture should have: identifies and investigates the problems related to the functionality and quality of interior sites and adds creativity; They are equipped with training and experience to design interior site, analyze the design, provide information on construction site control, building systems, aesthetics, information on building information, equipment, materials, and equipment and prepare drawings and documents for the interior.
